Toshio Nishiyama, who has loved animals since he was a child, decided to live for them and got a job as a keeper at a zoo. However, it was a tougher job than he imagined. He was escaped by a pelican while moving a hut, and injured a camel in his addiction to taming him. Through repeated failures, Toshio grows into a full-fledged zookeeper.
