Young Benkei, an ally of the poor, incurs the wrath of the greedy village headman and is on the verge of being banished from Kumano Village. His troubled father, the old man Ryusai, advises him to send Benkei to Mount Hiei for spiritual training. The young Benkei, now calling himself Musashibo Benkei, sets off for Kumano Village to exact revenge on the barber, but a man resembling a Tengu stands in his way!
