Li Leilin (Li Linglin) is the 17th princess of Sai (Zhai), the continent's strongest empire. Nicknamed the "Poison Princess," by those around her, she is an eccentric princess who possesses an unbending love for creepy insects and the Gu (poison) they create. One day, Linglin is instructed by Sai Ran (Cai Lan), the empress as well as her beloved sister, to marry the Kai (Kui) country's king, You Kouga (Yang Huangya). However, the prospects of the marriage were grim. Though the citizens of Kui were delighted to welcome in a beautiful bride from a country larger than their own, upon discovery that Linglin was a poison fanatic who much preferred creating Gu to beautiful clothes and sparkling gems, every citizen recoiled in disgust.
