The time is the Heian period. Akino, the daughter of an impoverished noble family, is asked by her father to “become a demon” and serve as a poison taster, a demon-eater. For the sake of her family, and succumbing to the temptation of delicious food, Akino resolves to enter court service. But within the imperial palace, ominous incidents are stirring…!? Armed with the sense of taste and culinary knowledge she has honed since childhood, she sets out to solve the mysteries alongside the enigmatic young man, Minamoto no Suō!
