Ikuto Fukami is a third-year high school student with an unusual form of synesthesia that allows him to see other people's emotions as colors. One day, he's suddenly enveloped in light and summoned to another world as a supposed Hero. Unfortunately, Ikuto arrives right in the middle of a desperate battle between the people who summoned him and an extremely dangerous magical beast known as a Riot Wolf. Even worse, he possesses absolutely no combat abilities or useful skills, leaving his summoners convinced they've summoned a complete failure. But Ikuto's strange ability has changed in this new world. His extraordinary “Empathy” allows him to understand and communicate with magical beasts, something no one else can do. Instead of treating them as mindless monsters to be exterminated, Ikuto can see their emotions, understand their motives, and even earn their trust. Tired of the cruelty and conflict he experienced in modern society, Ikuto chooses a very different path from the typical summoned Hero. Together with the powerful magical beasts who become his allies, he sets out to create a country where humans, beasts, and other races can coexist, and perhaps bring peace to the entire world along the way.
