Daichi Kazama , a first-year student at the prestigious high school baseball school Teiyo Gakuen , participated in the Koshien tournament , hitting a home run and becoming an instant hero. However, he injured his right shoulder in a practice game and had to leave the baseball club. Having lost his reason to stay at Teiyo Gakuen, he transfers to Minami Prefectural High School, which does not have a baseball club. However, on his first day at the new school, Daichi is challenged to a game by Haruka Sorano , a female student who claims to be the "captain of the baseball club." Even though Daichi refuses, saying he has nothing to do with baseball anymore, Haruka persistently demands a match. Finally giving in, Daichi agrees to a one-at-bat challenge, but when he faces Haruka's fastball, which is surprisingly good for an amateur, his body reacts instinctively, and he rediscovers his passion for baseball.
