Felix was born into a family of rice farmers in a fantasy world where rice exists, but unfortunately, it tastes terrible. On his eighth birthday, Felix receives his long-awaited special ability: “Rice Breeding.” Everyone around him considers such a narrowly specialized skill completely useless, but at the same moment, Felix suddenly remembers his previous life as a Japanese man who absolutely loved rice. To Felix, his supposedly worthless skill couldn't be more perfect. Combining “Rice Breeding” with his memories of Japanese agriculture and cuisine, Felix sets out to transform his world's terrible rice into something genuinely delicious. His experiments soon produce rice suitable for familiar dishes such as rice porridge and onigiri, along with more unusual creations like crispy rice sandwiches, rice pizza, and rice pudding. The people around him have never experienced rice like this before, and Felix's cooking quickly becomes a sensation. Along the way, he even befriends a divine beast who shares his enthusiasm for rice. What begins as one reincarnated rice lover's personal quest for a decent meal gradually grows into something much bigger: a full-blown rice revolution that may permanently change the food culture of another world.
